Gahat Ki Dal:
Gahat or Kulath is also well known for its positive impact on kidneys. This delicious dal of Gahat (Kulath) is tempered with asafoetida and cumin seeds.
Ingredients (serves 4-5 people)
1. Gahat (Kulath) – 300 gm
2. Tumeric – 1 Tea Spoon
3. Coriander powder – 1 Tea Spoon
4. Red chilli powder – 1 Tea Spoon
5. Oil – 50 ml
6. Ginger – 20gm
7. Asafoetida – Pinch
8. Garlic – 4-5 flakes
9. Cumin Seeds – ½ Tea spoon
1. Soak the dal in water for 2 hour.
2. Boil the dal in water.
heat 1 tablespoon oil, add Asafoetida and add cumin seed and let it change the color to dark brown. Add turmeric, corrinder powder, Ginger and Garlic Paste to the oil. Temper with cumin powder and gandharein.
Garnish After few seconds, add boil dal, salt. After shallow frying few mins in oil, add about 2 cups of water and let it cook for about 30 minutes in a medium flame. Dal is ready . keep them aside.
